This story tent brings together a wealth of resources for exploring global issues through dynamic and imaginative cross-curricular activities at KS1&2. A story tent draws on storytelling as an integral form of social activity, raising questions, issues and ideas. As a traditional shelter, the tent is a perfect environment for experiencing and learning about cultures, music, activities and stories from around the world. It is tactile, and can become an additional sensory room, where light, music and action can be used to tell stories.
Each panel of the tent focusses on a different country or theme, such as Growing Things, Chickens from South Africa or Mehndi hand designs and glove puppets from India.
A large collection of fantastic story books for KS1 - 2 is included that relate to each panel of the tent. You can also request to hire a separate kit of related artefacts for bringing your stories to life. This kit includes a range of artefacts from the countries represented in the panels.
Please note the tent is hired out by the week: Saturday to Friday except by arrangement.
The accompanying artefacts kit is hired out only with the tent, for an additional fee of £15.
